How to Make a Paper Making Mold and Deckle

Make your own paper making mold and deckle.

Drill
Ruler
Saw
Screwdriver

Materials
1 inch x 1 inch Pine - 5 Feet
Sand Paper
Screws
Staples
Window Screen

Instructions
Power tools should only be used by adults.
Cut the pine board into eight 7 inch pieces.

Sand the cut ends as needed.

Lay out the cut pieces to make the frame.  This should make a 5 X 7 inch mold and deckle.

Drill a pilot hole in the ends.

Insert screw into the the drilled holes and tighten with a screw driver.

Repeat these steps to make a second frame.

Lay one frame on top of the screen.

Cut the screen to fit  the frame.

Staple the screen in place.

You now have a mold and deckle to make paper.
